NATO is my nightmare because it is so autonomous and undemocratic. I was shocked by the large number of people who did not seem to have even heard of NATO let alone know anything about it.
A couple of years ago I was shocked by my ignorance about NATO when I learnt it has US nuclear bombs – 200 placed in bases across Europe. My nightmare grows as I think of the increased risks of accidents or even the use of these weapons.
