I agreed wholeheartedly with the 'know your enemy' sentiment of this article. However, I take issue with Mr Gove's actual competence in anything other than the arts of 'newspeak' and 'doublethink'.

“generally agreed to be one of the most effective ministers in the coalition government”

Generally agreed by whom? The 'swivel-eyed loonies' (sic) perhaps?

His plans are based on the sublime contradiction that 'poorly performing' schools should be privatised and made into a success by not having to follow the very curriculum which he is enforcing on all the schools still under his control. In so doing he is already way over budget in what is supposed to be an austerity government. Hopefully he will stay in the job long enough for all his chickens to finally come home to roost.

"generally agreed to be one of the most effective ministers in the coalition government"

Eh? What about the countless u-turns and foot-in-mouth moments? I'm sure he has his supporters, but elsewhere he is also 'generally' agreed to be pretty dreadful at his job.

"No doubt his commonly talked-about personal charm"

No mention of his even more commonly talked about lack of personal charm? He is loathed by many, and thought of as an unsympathetic and arrogant little bed-wetter.

And surely no-one's impressed by all that Gramsci and Jade Goody nonsense? Anyone with half a brain and access to wikipedia can put together a show-boating speech like that. His ideas for the education system come from one place only, his dodgy instincts. Only after he's parped out on of his embarrassing little brain farts are they febreezed with whatever curve-ball academic references his advisers can get their hands on.
