		<description>Political paties do not rig elections so as to lose votes. United Russia lost votes. The communists went from 13% to 19%, a whopping 50% increase whose sheer size screams fraud. Logically, therefore, the fraudsters were the communists. That fits nicely with Mr Bowman&#039;s point about it being easier to fraud in the remote areas, where the communists still have some residual influence. I&#039;d guess that the old guard apparatchiks simply stuffed too many communist votes into the ballot boxes! Putin probably had nothing to do with it but it will probably end his career. Medvedev will probably be United Russia&#039;s candidate, will probably win and will have a different prime minister. The interesting part is how much of this was American-financed. The idea of American millionaires trying to finance a revival of communism in Europe is amusing, but that&#039;s what seems to be happening!</description>
