Just a question for anybody here. Watching the events transpiring in Libya this past month on the news has anybody seen any sign of British weapons in use. I eman:
Libyan jets...Russian
Libyan Helicopters...Russian
Libyan tanks...Russian
Libyan rockets...Russian
Libyan Small arms...Russian

So we sold them parts for tanks, a few rounds (£3000 pounds worth) and a little tear gas. The weapons killing hundreds in Libya are Russian made. that kind of explains why currently the Russia stands to lose $4 billion in arms deals with Libya due to the UN arms embargo.

Instead we have an article which complains about how the British government refused to give a licence to re-export 130,000 Kalashnikov rifles from the Ukraine.

Sniper rifles were also sold;

Actually no sniper rifles were sold. The licence issued were for a number of deactivated guns to be allowed out of the country for a trade show. At no time were they handed over to libya and all are now back in the Uk.
