Bold thoughts for a winter's day.The triumph of inclusion rather than discrimination.Recall the outward looking, innovative Declaration of Independence which one thought would herald freedom for all but in the event failed to include the First People and the imported slaves.
In modern times we observe that people are put into categories which enables us to think they do not fit into our scheme of things and thus can be marginalised or overlooked or treated with contumely..whereas in the Common Law tradition everyone had the right to be considered an upright and honest citizen unless the opposite had been proven in a court of law and this ment he could think what he will, say what he will and go where he will without let or hindrance.
