Thank you to both Sandra and Stephen for explaining your differing points of view on what may happen in a not so distant future in Cuba.

There is good information here, and plenty of food for thought.

Economy vs Ideology is an interesting match to witness. Let’s just hope that we don’t forget about the players. It really is all about them, their hard work, their work ethic, their investment in the final outcome and mostly perseverance [or patience] -or lack-there-of- that coaches and public tend to take for granted, usually before, during and after the match.

Also, what goes in/for Havana is different in/for the provinces.

I would think most Americans would be critical of the
service levels and food quality at most Cuban resorts.
The exception would be at 5* resorts at Veradero and
Guardlavaca and a few others.

This time it’s Dr. Wilkinson who makes the ever so common error of stating that “Once significant numbers of Americans are allowed to visit, Cuba’s current economic woes will be over…”
Given that Cuba has many other tourists from around the world, there is no justification in believing that the introduction of American tourists will change things.
Realistically, they will merely displace others on the beaches and the accent will be from New England, rather than Merry Old England.
To posit any other outcome is to ignore reality.
