Evidence of Israeli brutalities in the illegally occupied West Bank are overwhelming, widely reported (although suppressed in the mainstream corporate media) and indisputable. A very revealing book on the subject (available in our city liberies) is from Philip C Winslow, entitled: "Victory to us is to see you suffer". The author worked for three year in the West Bank and Gaza under the UNRWA scheme (United Nations Relief and Works Program. In my blog 'Contraviews' (www.contraviewing.blogspot.com) you will find much information and references to useful websites in particular on the history and creation of Israel and the ensuing Israeli/Palestine conflict.
For many years I was a regular contributor to the letter pages of The Press, but for rather spurious reasons I was banned from further participation and my e-mails blocked. Any comments, debate on the lobsided, misleading articles in our mainstream corporate news media on the ME/Iran are completely taboo.

Great article. Israelis may believe it to be a duty as APL says, but it doesn't mean there aren't those that are against IDF policy. "Celebrated deeds" - wow, how proud it must feel to humiliate pregnant women at check points so they or their child dies. Breaking the Silence and other leaks from the IDF prove that occupying forces are not "honorable" and act as all such forces do, namely, in a brutal and racist manner. by the way this doesn't mean that I agree with the Palestinian response of killing civilians but it's easy for me to have this view as I have not just had my family blown to smithereens by brave Israeli pilots.

This article couldn't be more misleading. I have a large family in Isreal, and I KNOW for a FACT, that people do not treat army service in the way you discribe. It is a duty, defending there family and friends, that is celebrated and deeds honored. This is nothing more than a fabrication to back up the authors.
Shame on the so-called free-press
