- Anarchist Black Cross
Prisoner support group offering solidarity to anarchist and other class struggle prisoners.
- Anarchist Federation
The Anarchist Federation is an organisation of class struggle anarchists (based in Britain and Ireland, but with many contacts overseas) which aims to abolish Capitalism and all oppression to create a free and equal society.
- Brazilian Workers Party (PT)
Formed out of the civil society struggles against the dictatorship in the early 1980s by a rainbow coalition of labour unions, urban and rural social movements, former guerrillas, Marxist intellectuals and Christians close to liberation theology, the PT demonstrates a unique adherence to both representative and participatory democracy, and has gradually risen from winning power in local and municipal goverments to now holding the federal state presidency.
- Compass
Compass is a democratic left pressure group aligned with the UK Labour Party. It aims to develop a more coherent and radical programme for a progressive left government in the post-Blair era.
- Communist Party
Founded in 1920 as Britain’s Marxist leninist party of working class power and socialist revolution.
- Electoral Reform Society,
A membership organisation campaigning for the strengthening of UK democracy through changes to the voting system and electoral arrangements that would create proportional representation through a Single Transferable Vote.
- Independent Progressive Politics Network
A network composed of organisations and individuals committed to the achievement of a national, non-sectarian, independent progressive political party, or an alliance of such parties, as an alternative to the corporate-controlled, Democratic/Republican system in the US.
- Independent Working Class Association
Formed in October 1995. When New Labour was elected in May 1997, the IWCA responded by setting up a number of pilot schemes in selected places across the country. The emphasis at all times was on addressing the immediate interests of the working class in the locality in which the pilot scheme was based.
- Labour Against The War
’Labour Against the War is the Labour Party and trade union campaign against military action against Afghanistan and neighbouring countries.’
- Labour CND
’Labour CND is a specialist section of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Our purpose is to promote support for nuclear disarmament within the Labour Party. Our activities are designed to enlist support for this amongst Labour Party and trade union members and organisations.’
- Philippino Citizens Action Party – (Akbayan)
An alternative, democratic citizens’ political party of labour, peasants, youth, women, gay and lesbians, professionals, overseas Filipino workers and the urban poor that has emerged out of the desire of social movement groups to be part of the formal processes of government.
- Radical Activist Network
’The Radical Activist Network was formed at the beginning of 2004 by a group of activists largely drawn from the movements against war, racism and corporate globalisation.’
- South Korean Democratic Labour Party (DLP)
Founded in 1999 as a parliamentarist wing of the Korean workers movement dedicated to fighting corruption, gangland-style politics and representing the ‘marginalised social groups’ such as workers, peasants and the poor.
- Scottish Socialist Party
Brings together an alliance of socialist platforms with former Labour members and trade unionists to push for an Independent Socialist Scotland as part of a worldwide fight-back against global capitalism. Its weekly paper is the Scottish Socialist Voice (www.scottishsocialistvoice.net).
- Socialist Labour Party
The Socialist Labour Party was formed on May Day, 1996, after New Labour abandoned any pretence of being a Socialist party, ditched its historical commitment to common ownership and openly embraced capitalism and the ’free market’.
- Socialist Party
Formerly Militant, the Socialist Party campaigns, as part of working class communities, against all the attacks of the government and big business - from the privatisation of the NHS to the destruction of our environment.
- South Korean Democratic Labour Party (DLP)
Founded in 1999 as a parliamentarist wing of the Korean workers movement dedicated to fighting corruption, gangland-style politics and representing the ‘marginalised social groups’ such as workers, peasants and the poor.
- The Co-operative Party

- The Green Party of England and Wales
With separate parties for England and Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, the Green Party aims to create a just, equitable and sustainable society through both the electoral system and campaign activism.
- Transnational Institute
An independent global network of scholar-activists embedded in the ‘global justice movement’ seeking to create international cooperation in analysing and finding possible solutions on global issues ranging from militarism and the ‘war on drugs’ to water justice and carbon trading.
- Workers Power
Workers Power is the UK section of the League for the Fifth International.
- World Social Forum (WSF)
A convergence point for groups and movements of global civil society opposed to neo-liberalism and instead engaged in building a planetary society centred on respect for universal human rights, the environment, democracy, social justice, equality and the sovereignty of peoples, to debate ideas, formulate proposals, share experiences and network for effective action. Since the first forum in 2001, the WSF has met annually – on several occasions in Porto Alegre, Brazil as well as other cities including Mumbai, India and Nairobi, Kenya.
