I have rarely seen a lazier piece of journalism. Almost every single one of these reasons is false.

Just start with number one. Okay there has been no increase in the last ten years but that is only because the big medical jump was made between 1967 and 2003. Penny is deliberately trying to disguise the truth of the situation.

One thing that is never pointed out in this whole debate is that the term limit in almost all other EU states is 12 weeks and nobody, feminists included, are campaign to increase it:

This is good, but it would be a much stronger article if the points relating to stats and science were referenced, even just with links to the sources. I guess a lot of it is from the Science & Tech Committee report?

It should be plain and simple, it is the WOMAN’S body – not the doctors, not the bystanders the WOMAN’S.
I really wish this was common knowledge and NOT folklore….!

Whilst I’m sympathetic to most of your arguments, can I point out that 6) doesn’t hold water – the time limit does not apply to cases where the foetus is seriously amlformed.
